Airplant Care
Yay! You've adopted a Fun Usual Suspect airplant holder! Now what??Don't worry, the plants are simple to care for and will do great almost anywhere with minimal effort. Airplants don't require soil, as they get all their nutrients from the sun, water, and ambient air around them, but they DO need a little attention to make sure that they stay healthy and happy. While they need plenty of light (10+ hours per day) they DON'T like excessive DIRECT sunlight as they can burn or dry out if they get too much. Along with that they need to stay properly hydrated in order to prosper.

You can keep it watered optimally by spritzing it two or three times a week with a light misting of water, and also by completely submerging the plant in cool, clean water, once a week or so, for about 10 minutes per session. After it has had it's soak, make sure to shake the plant gently to remove any excess moisture before putting it back into the holder. While they need to be hydrated, they will NOT survive if they are left in standing water. Do NOT put water into your plant holder and then stick the plant into the water, as it won't survive long in that scenario. We also recommend using filtered water as the chlorine in some tap water may damage the plant over time. A good rule of thumb to remember for how often to water the plant is this: If you put it somewhere that is brighter, dryer and hotter, then the plant is going to need more frequent water. These plants tend to do well in environments that naturally have more water vapor in the air, like kitchens and bathrooms, but they'll do great anywhere as long as you keep them sufficiently hydrated. If you see the smallest tendrils starting to wither or dry up, that's a pretty good sign that you need to give it a soak right away.
